Folheto sabedores da cultura popular

The booklet “Masters of Popular Culture Knowledge,” created for the II Fluminense Heritage Week, was designed as an editorial piece dedicated to celebrating memory and the intangible cultural heritage of Rio de Janeiro State. The project combines documentary photography, emotionally driven collage compositions, and a visual language inspired by personal memory albums, resulting in a publication that feels accessible, human, and deeply connected to local culture.

The art direction was developed to strengthen the relationship between territory, tradition, and collective identity, highlighting folk masters, fishermen, artisans, and cultural agents from the Região dos Lagos. The editorial design embraces a simple and organic aesthetic, using polaroid-style imagery, handwritten typography, and visual references to the Brazilian coastline to convey authenticity and a strong sense of belonging.

The project is part of the Fluminense Heritage Week initiatives, an event dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage in the state of Rio de Janeiro, bringing together exhibitions, conversations, and documentation of traditional knowledge and cultural practices.
